A few days ago I received the BECCA Cosmetics VoxBox from Influenster. For those of you who are unfamiliar Influenster, it is an online community of social media influencers who provides honest reviews on brands and products. Qualifying influencers like myself get to receive a free VoxBox containing anything from makeup, skincare, and even household products. We are not paid to do these reviews so you can be sure that we are offering honest opinions on the products that we test. I received three of BECCA’s latest products: The First Light Priming Filter, Soft Light Blurring Powder and the Soft Kabuki Brush. I’ve been so excited to share my review with you!
One of the products I received was the BECCA First Light Priming Filter. To start, I applied one pump to my entire face after cleansing. I would say I have combination skin and minor sensitivity – my skin immediately looked dewy and felt so fresh – it was glowing! I would highly recommend this as a base to your foundation or BB cream. If you’re going for more of a natural, everyday look, you could definitely wear it alone without any foundation or concealer.
I had never used a setting powder before so this was a first for me! The powder is meant to blur imperfections and set your makeup. While I honestly didn’t see a huge difference, it definitely did eliminate shine. This powder will be perfect to apply as needed throughout the day to reduce shine.
I’m very picky with my makeup brushes (I only own a few) and prefer to invest in high quality, ultra-soft ones versus the less expensive ones. Any of the cheaper brushes have thicker bristles that can irritate your skin. When I first opened this brush, I was so surprised at how soft it is. It’s probably the softest brush I have. It has a flat face which smoothly applies any powder and can even cover those hard to reach places like the sides of the nose. If you’re looking to invest in a high quality, full coverage brush, I highly recommend this one.
Before and After
Overall, I was very impressed with these three products. The First Light Priming Filter is my personal favorite of the three. I immediately noticed a “golden hour” glow upon application. Two additional major pluses for me? For one, I love how BECCA Cosmetics is a cruelty-free company. I’m a huge animal lover and like to support companies that do not test their products on animals. Second, these three products are formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates.
All three products are available at Sephora. Have you tried any BECCA Cosmetics products? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Disclosure: These BECCA products were sent to me complimentary by Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.
