The other day Sam and I took the afternoon off from work and got a few photos done (with Ella of course) for this year’s Christmas card (stay tuned- photos coming soon 😉 ). We went to one of our favorite places – Smolak Farms – and enjoyed a beautiful, warm Fall day. The display of autumn colors in New England rarely disappoints, but this year the colors are not as vibrant. Apparently two reasons for the lackluster foliage is the unusually dry weather we’ve had in August and September and the abnormally warm days. There were still a few trees with magnificent color, so we dropped our bags and enjoyed the day walking through apple orchards and pumpkin patches.
Since the weather was a little warmer than usual, I didn’t want to wear a a heavy turtleneck or sweater. I started with my favorite lightweight turtleneck (perfect alone or for layering), skinny jeans and booties. These jeans are super comfortable (they feel like leggings) and have a very classic look. I topped off the look with an olive peacoat (similar here and here). Olive is one of my favorite colors for Fall as you can wear it with many different colors – white, camel, pink, gray or black. Below are a few peacoat options to wear as we transition into winter:
